The Ludlow’s interior design was done by New York-based K&Co, which set out to capture Philadelphia’s status as a city of firsts. “There was just a level of ingenuity, craft and honesty of material that we wanted to have,” said K&Co founder Krista Ninivaggi.
Now that the community spaces are all but finished and the first tenants are moving in, National Real Estate Development Managing Director Dan Killinger invited members of the real estate media over to The Ludlow, the first of two residential towers being built in the East Market development’s first phase last Tuesday, May 15th.
Bisnow toured the building May 16 with National Managing Director Dan Killinger, visiting staged versions of a two-bedroom, one-bedroom and studio unit as well as the amenity space on the third floor. The 18-story, 322-unit building is “introducing residential to Market Street, which is a big deal,” BLT Architects principal Michael Prifti said.
Beyer Blinder Belle designed the Rollins, along with interiors from K&Co. Residences range from studios to three bedrooms, with select residences featuring private terraces. Construction is wrapping up at JDS Development Group’s American Copper Buildings, the twin residential rental towers at 626 First Avenue on the East River waterfront in Manhattan. Designed by SHoP Architects, the sloping 41 and 49-story towers are connected by a skybridge filled with amenities such as an indoor lap pool and residents’ lounge.
